BILLBOARD News Now

1974

We watched the fallout from President Biden’s late June debate.  Last night in a one-on-one interview he made his case to remain his party’s choice for President.  A strong case can be made for his accomplishments. Staying in the race needs to move beyond the past to the future.

The Biden team and American voters must understand the consequences of a self-described “dictator” Donald Trump.  One only needs a brief preview of the Heritage Foundations’ Project 2025 blueprint for governing to see the conflict.  Their leader Kevin Roberts said this week “We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.”

Despite Trump’s disavowing ties to the plan some of the same people who drafted the Project 2025 plan are leading the preparations of the 2024 Republican platform.  They are meeting secretly behind closed doors.  Access to previous past platform committee meetings have been open and televised.  Meeting now in private reduces public attention to the process.  What are they hiding?

Does Biden need a visit similar to the one made on President Nixon in 1974?  Senator Barry Goldwater, Senate Minority Leader Hugh Scott and House Minority Leader John Rhoades went to see Nixon in his private office.

A few days later he resigned.
