The Challenge

The democracy our Founders put in place is alive & well.  Twelve citizens sitting as a jury confirmed that no one is above the law…not even a former President of the United States. The jury members followed the law and found Trump guilty. And at his post-conviction “news conference” everything was about him.  It was disgusting his attack on the Judge who presided over the trial.

Candidate Trump is still prepared to attack our system of government established in 1787.  The only plan he has is to seize power and plow over the laws and Constitution for personal gain.

Trump plans to become “dictator-for-a-day.”  Once back in the Oval Office he will never leave.  He has promised a “bloodbath” if he loses.  The plan is to fire everyone who is not subservient.  Install loyalists at all levels of the Federal government and use the Department of Justice to go after his enemies. His approach to foreign relations is even more frightening. And this is only the beginning.

Becoming the leader of the Republican Party has made this all possible. The GOP has been “right of center” for years, but Trump’s MAGA has promoted extremism.  Even if Trump is defeated it will take a generation to erase this element.

Bottom line…this election is all about is saving democracy.

This challenge involves all of us.
